‘I would love to work with Mourinho’ – £22m Brazilian star responds to reports that Man United made offer
Benfica ace Anderson Talisca has been closely linked with Manchester United following comments made in an interview with Globoesporte.
“I cannot deny there is interest but what happens next depends on Benfica and my representatives,” Talisca was quoted as saying when asked about United interest.
“There will be news on this soon.
“Look every player dreams of playing under him [Jose Mourinho].
“Mourinho wants me, he has wanted me for a long time and I am an admirer of his work.
“I had a good season so we will see what happens.”
Talisca was linked with a move to United following his statement.
The 23-year-old has now responded to reports regarding the nature of United’s interest.
The attacking midfielder praised Red Devils boss Jose Mourinho yet again and underlined that he would love to work with him.
Talisca did however, distance himself from claims that he is close to joining United.
The Brazilian underlined that the media would have already known if there was an offer on the table.
“I have a lot of respect for Jose Mourinho, he is an amazing manager and I have always said I would love to work with Mourinho,” Talisca was quoted as saying by Futbolarena.
“I do not want to get into this debate about an offer being made or not, let’s just say if I were to receive that kind of offer you would all know about it.”
Talisca is expected to stay on loan at Besiktas next season.
The Black Eagles signed him on a two-year loan deal from Benfica but he does have a £22 million release clause.
The powerful attacker was one of the best performing players in the league last season, scoring 17 times and providing six assists for the Istanbul giants.
Talisca played a key role in Besiktas winning the league title and reaching the Europa League quarter-finals.
