Malatyaspor Progress To Europa League 3rd Qualifying Round After Eliminating Olimpija Ljubljana

Malatyaspor made history on Thursday after advancing to the third qualifying round of the UEFA Europa League following their 1-0 away victory over Slovenia outfit Olimpija Ljubljana.

The Super Lig side are competing in the Europa League for the first time in their history.

The Eastern Anatolian side ended up beating Olimpija Ljubljana 3-2 on aggregate.

The first-leg in Turkey ended in a 2-2 draw but Malatyaspor managed to pull off a deserved away win after putting on an impressive display.

Malatyaspor striker Adis Jahovic ended up scoring the winning goal on 77 minutes which brought the historic win for the Super Lig side.

Serbian giants Partizan will take on Malatyaspor next in the third qualifying round.

The Yellow-Blacks were expected to be involved in a relegation race at the start of last season but ended up defying most pundits predictions.

Malatyaspor surprised the odds last season after finishing the 2018-19 Super Lig season in 5th place.
