Manchester City’s out-of-favour defender Jason Denayer is close to completing a move to the Ligue 1 side Lyon.

Turkish Super Lig champions Galatasaray have been closely linked with a move for the Belgium international over the summer. However, the Lions have been unable to strike a loan-deal agreement with Manchester City.

The Citizens are keen on selling Denayer on a permanent deal. According to the French outlet L’Equipe reporter Bilel Ghazi, Lyon has won the race to sign Denayer.

Per the source, the Belgium international will undergo a medical and put pen-to-paper on a deal with Lyon this week.

Ghazi went onto state that Denayer has already begun training alongside his new teammates.

Both Celtic and Leeds United were previously linked with a move for the Belgium international.

Denayer has two-years remaining on his contract with Man City and spent last season out on loan with Galatasaray.

Man City are back in action this weekend when they take on the newly promoted Wolves FC.
