Man City Consider Letting £10.7m Brazilian Wonderkid Leave To Escape Work Permit Nightmare, Galatasaray Prepare Move But Face Competition

Galatasaray are among several sides that want Manchester City wonderkid Douglas Luiz on loan.

The Fanatik newspaper reports that Galatasaray are going to loan Luiz.

Per the source, the Lions want both Jason Denayer and Luiz on a temporary move.

Sky Sports meanwhile report that City are indeed considering loaning Luiz but name Griona and Benfica as potential destinations, Galatasaray is not mentioned.

City are open to loaning the Brazilian as he will be unable to play in England this season after The FA rejected his application for a work permit.

Pep Guardiola wanted the 20-year-old to stay at City and be part of his first-team squad but Luiz has now been left in limbo.

Guardiola made it clear he is extremely disappointed with the decision.

“I accept the rules but it’s difficult to understand. They don’t know him,” Guardiola said.

“They have to judge if he has the ability to decide. Me and [Brazil manager] Tite know more about it. They don’t know him, not one game or training session,” he added.

“We spent £12-£14m because he’s a player with a huge capacity to play with us.”

Guardiola did also reveal that City are prepared to loan the midfielder out.

“I’m so sad and disappointed for Douglas, he could have played, he’s shown many good things,” Guardiola added.

“We are going to send him on loan again and try to get the work permit.

“I don’t understand but we’re in England and you have to accept it. I’d have preferred [to have found out] 10 or 15 days ago as we could have decided what we can do.”

City signed Luiz on a £10.7m [Manchester Evening News] move from Vasco da Gama last summer and loaned him out to Girona where he made 17 appearances.

The Lions can only loan players and made free transfers this summer due to pressure from Financial Fair Play to curb spending.

The Istanbul based outfit have already faced fines and will face suspension from European competition if they breach the terms of the agreement again.

Galatasaray would, therefore, be prepared to give the youngster first-team opportunities in the league and Champions League.
