Galatasaray booked a place in the Turkish Cup semi-final after beating Konyaspor 6-3 on aggregate.

The Lions beat Konyaspor 4-1 at the Turk Telekom Arena on Thursday but there was one notable absence.

Manchester City loanee Jason Denayer suffered a hamstring injury during the 2-1 defeat against Sivasspor over the weekend.

Denayer will be out for at least six-weeks.

The injury comes at a critical time in the Lions title race but could also hurt Denayer’s chances of making the World Cup squad for Belgium.

The 22-year-old has eight international caps for the Belgium national side.

Denayer has been in great form for Galatasaray, starting 12 of the Lions last 13 league games – the only game he missed over that spell was due to injury.

A source close to Galatasaray revealed to Turkish-Football that officials from the Belgium national team setup had been keeping tabs on the defender and that Denayer was confident of making the squad.

The Lions are currently second in the Super Lig, two points behind league leaders Basaksehir.

Galatasaray take on Antalyaspor next at the Turk Telekom Arena on Monday.
