Manchester City and Borussia Dortmund are set to go head to head in the race for Fenerbahce wonderkid Elif Elmas in January according to the Fanatik sports newspaper.
Per the source, City and Dortmund sent scouts to watch Elmas over the international break and are preparing an ‘astronomic’ offer.
Elmas put on an impressive display for Macedonia U21 against Armenia.
Fenerbahce are set to hold a meeting to discuss the future of Elmas who has established himself as a first-choice star in Phillip Cocu’s side despite being aged just 18-years-old.
Former Yellow Canaries president Aziz Yildirim revealed that City actually made a bid for Elmas and that 26 clubs were interested in the rising star.
“Manchester City and Ajax made concrete offers, in total 26 clubs made bids for Elif Elmas,” Yildirim told NTV Spor.
