Manchester City have expressed an interest in Schalke forward Ahmed Kutucu a source close to the player revealed to Turkish-Football.
City held initial talks towards the end of the 2018-19 season making their interest clear.
Schalke have another three-years remaining on his deal and have made it clear that Kutucu will be staying on this summer.
The reigning Premier League champions will keep tabs on the 19-year-old next season after being left impressed with his development last term.
Kutucu broke into the Schalke senior side this season and already has three goals and one assist in 16 appearances in all competitions. And has already represented his club in the Champions League.
The Schalke starlet rose through the youth ranks of the U19 side under the stewardship of highly acclaimed youth coach Norbert Elgert.
Elgert has been in charge of the Schalke under-19 side since 1996 and is responsible for producing some of the greatest talents in Germany football including Julian Draxler, Benedikt Howedes, Manuel Neuer, Mesut Ozil, Max Meyer and Leroy Sane.
The rising star has represented Turkey at both U17 and U19 level but could still play for Germany at senior international level.
Kutucu was born in Germany but is of Turkish descent and can, therefore, represent either country.
