Man City Loanee Suffers Injury Blow After Establishing Himself As Galatasaray Starter

Manchester City loanee Jason Denayer who is currently playing for Galatasaray suffered an injury blow following the 2-1 defeat to Sivasspor.

Galatasaray released a statement confirming that Denayer has torn his hamstring.

The statement read: “Jason Denayer has torn his left hamstring and will being rehabiliation immediately.”

The club did not reveal how long they expect the defender to be ruled out of action for.

The news comes just as Denayer established himself as a first-choice defender for Fatih Terim’s side.

The 22-year-old started for the Lions against Sivasspor.

The Belgium international has started every game since Fatih Terim was appointed manager.

The 22-year-old was deployed as a centre-back and made the highest number of clearances for his side (9) over the source of the 90 minutes.

Denayer was also impressive in possession completing 92.5 percent of 52 passes attempted.

The powerful defender has started the last seven games for the title challengers.

Galatasaray are currently two points behind league leaders Basaksehir in the Super Lig table.

The Lions take on Konyaspor next in the Turkish Cup quarter-final second leg clash at the Turk Telekom Arena.
