Ilkay Gundogan returned to action after two-months on the sidelines mid-week against Shakhtar Donetsk in the Champions League on Match Day 4.
City ended up winning 6-0 with Gundogan putting on an impressive display after being brought on for David Silva late in the second-half.
The 27-year-old even provided an assist, setting up Riyad Mahrez with the fifth goal on 84 minutes.
Gundogan now has one goal and three assists in all competitions this season.
The midfielder of Turkish origin will be match fit for the Manchester derby on Sunday.
Gundogan is expected to make the match day squad against Manchester United but it remains to be seen whether Pep Guardiola will give him a starting role having only recently made a full recovery.
With Gundogan back in contention it gives the head coach more options in midfield.
Bernardo Silva has filled in for De Bruyne following injury but with Gundogan back he cannot be ruled out.
Guardiola will however, be without Kevin De Bruyne, Eliaquim Mangala and Claudio Bravo who has a long-term Achilles injury.
City head into the derby as league leaders, two points ahead of second placed Chelsea.
United meanwhile, head into the clash in 7th position.
