Manchester City have joined the race for Liverpool target Abdulkadir Omur according to Futbol Arena.

Per the source, City have expressed an interest in the 19-year-old attacking midfielder.

The report claims that Liverpool want Omur as a future replacement for Adam Lallana but that City could scupper the Reds plans.

Liverpool are reportedly prepared to pay £27m [€30m] for the Trabzonspor wonderkid.

The Turkey international is one of the most highly rated players in the Super Lig.

The rising star is under contract until 2022 and has two goals and three assists in 17 appearances this term.

Omur has established himself as a first-choice player for the Black Sea based side over the past two seasons.

Trabzonspor are currently second in the Super Lig and among the title favourites.

The latest report follows the Aksam newspaper reporting that Liverpool have entered talks with Trabzonspor over the transfer of Omur.

Turkish-Football meanwhile, reported that Trabzonspor have confirmed clubs scouting Omur but have not commented on receiving offers.

Omur has been held in high esteem for years. UEFA described him as something of a cross between Lionel Messi and Gheorghe Hagi and this is what I had to say about him in the the Guardian newspapers 2016 Next Generation project.
