Valentines Day is usually associated with couples expressing their love for each other in some form or another.
Others claim it is a load of commercialized claptrap.
Ilkay Gundogan decided to give the day a whole new meaning.
The Manchester City midfielder did not make the day about him or a lover. Instead he expressed his love in another way.
Gundogan decided to help people with disabilities in his families hometown of Dursunbey, in Balikesir, Turkey.
The 27-year-old donated a vehicle to help transport people in wheelchairs.
There are a total of 500 wheelchair users in the town, the new vehicle will be able to service their needs.

Dursunbey council leader Ramazan Bahcavan said: “I am honored to say Ilkay Gundogan and his father Irfan Gundogan are supporting our council initiative to improve the lives of our disabled residents. The new vehicle will be available to all wheelchair users in the town at their request from the council. The service is open to the public, free of charge thanks to Ilkay and Irfan’s efforts. It is worth remembering we could all end up in a wheelchair or with a disability, we must be more considerate and embrace everyone in society.”
Gundogan has been involved in several projects aimed at helping develop Dursunbey and even has a stadium named after him.
Local club Dursunbey Belediyespor named their stadium after the City star.
