Manchester City star Ilkay Gundogan waxed lyrical about Pep Guardiola in his latest article with Goal.
Gundogan revealed he has been witnessing the genius of Guardiola and stated that he has a tactical gift like nobody else in the world.
In fact the midfielder of Turkish origin went as far to say that the manager has made him see the light as far as tactics are concerned.
Gundogan also thinks that the fact Guardiola played a similar role as him during his years as a footballer is why the boss is keen on him.
Goal have the German’s quotes, who said: “Pep Guardiola tactically brings a gift that is second to none in the world. When we go to the pitch and see what [Guardiola’s tactics] trigger, then a light goes on.
“The way we see football is quite similar. He played in a similar position to where I’m playing now and he’s also a big fan of midfielders.”

Guardiola has been full of praise for Gundogan and played him regularly as his first-choice midfielder.
Following Gundogan’s brace and brilliant display in the 4-0 win over Basel in the Champions League Last 16 first leg clash Guardiola said: “Gundogan is an extraordinary player.
“Last season we missed him a lot for the six months he was out with an injury.
“That’s why we’re so satisfied for the performance – not just for the goals for the quality he has, for the personality to play. He played fantastic.”
The midfielder is currently on international duty with Germany who will take on Spain and Brazil.
