Man City Star Returns To Action 35 Days After Injury As Galatasaray Move Into First Place

Manchester City defender Jason Denayer has made a full recovery from a hamstring tear sooner than expected.

Denayer who is on loan at Galatasaray was included in the match-day squad in the 2-1 win over Konyaspor.

The Lions came from behind to beat the Anatolian Eagles and move into first place in the Super Lig, three points clear of Besiktas and Basaksehir who are level on 50 points.

Denayer made a brief appearance over the course of the 90 minutes and could find himself in the starting line-up for the Intercontinental Derby against Fenerbahce next week.

The derby clash could end up knocking the Yellow Canaries out of the title race but Galatasaray have not beat their arch-rivals at the Sukru Saracoglu Stadium since the turn of the millennium.

Fenerbahce are currently six-points behind Galatasaray, in fourth place. The Lions would open up a nine-point gap with a victory next weekend.

Denayer’s recovery has coincided with a flurry of social media activity.

We really like the International Women’s Day clip he dedicated to – we presume – female members in his family.
