“World class” – Man City star reveals verdict on Arsenal target Thomas Tuchel

Man City playmaker Ilkay Gundogan has tipped Thomas Tuchel to succeed in the Premier League.

The German tactician has been closely linked with the Arsenal job in recent weeks. Arsene Wenger still has 18 months remaining on his contract with the Gunners, however, Kicker has stated that the north London based club are in talks with Tuchel.

Gundogan played under Tuchel for a season prior to his move to Manchester City. The midfield playmaker has insisted that the 44-year-old has the ability to succeed in England.

“I’m a big fan of his. I believe he’s a world-class coach and that he can coach every big club in the world, for me that’s not in doubt,” Gundogan told reporters following Germany’s 1-1 draw with Spain.

“I’m glad (he could go to England), I really enjoyed my one year playing for him and I learnt a lot in that time.

“I wish him all the best and have spoken to him a little since (leaving Dortmund). I’m sure in the not too distant future he’ll be managing a big club.”

Tuchel has been out of a job since he was sacked by Borussia Dortmund last year. The German tactician has also been linked with the Bayern Munich job.

Man City are back in action this weekend when they face Everton at Goodison Park. The Citizens can lift the Premier League title in early April is they maintain their current run of form.
