Man City Team News: Guardiola Facing Defensive Headache Ahead Of Arsenal Clash, Gundogan Available

Manchester City take on Arsenal at Wembley Stadium in the Carabao Cup final on Sunday.

City will be hoping to bounce back after a shock FA Cup exit at the hands of Wigan on Monday.

Pepe Guardiola is starting to welcome back most of his injured players who have recovered or are nearing recovery.

Guardiola will still be without Benjamin Mendy who is a long-term absentee, Gabriel Jesus is a doubt but what will cause him the biggest headache is Fabian Delph being suspended.

The City boss faces a number of tough decisions at the back.

Aleks Zinchenko has received playing time this season but Guardiola seems to prefer him when City are on the front foot.

Danilo has been used more during tougher away trips like against Liverpool recently and he has more experience.

John Stones, Nicolas Otamendi, Aymeric Laporte and Vincent Kompany are all available at centre-back and a case could be made for each of them to start – but only two will end up getting the nod.

Guardiola faces less problems picking his attack. Sergio Aguero is almost certain to start with Raheem Sterling and Leroy Sane likely to get the nod.

Kevin de Bruyne is also very likely to be in the starting line-up.

Midfielder of Turkish origin Ilkay Gundogan has been in impressive form recently.

In fact Guardiola waxed lyrical about him after his brace against Basel so we may just see him keep his place in the side.
