Man City team news: Pep Guardiola facing injury troubles ahead of Southampton clash

Man City team news: Pep Guardiola facing injury troubles ahead of Southampton clash

Manchester City take on Southampton this week as they look to maintain their winning run.

The clash takes place at the Etihad stadium on Wednesday while kick-off is scheduled for 20:00 (GMT).

Pep Guardiola’s side have registered 12 wins and a draw in their opening 13 games of the season leaving them in pole position. The Citizens and an impressive eight points ahead of their rivals Manchester United.

 Man City team news: 

Pep Guardiola is facing injury worries in defence. John Stones has been ruled out with an injury while Vincent Kompany is a doubt for Wednesday’s game.

The Belgium international has struggled with injuries in recent years and is unlikely to play three games in the space of a week.

David Silva meanwhile has been carrying a neck injury but is expected to start on Wednesday.

Both Fernandinho and Leroy Sane are a yellow card from receiving a one-game suspension.
