Man City To Send Scouts To Europa League Clash To Monitor 18-Year-Old Fenerbahce Wonderkid

Manchester City and Borussia Dortmund are set to send scouts to the Fenerbahce Europa League clash against Dinamo Zagreb to monitor 18-year-old midfielder Elif Elmas.

Fenerbahce take on the Zagreb in Croatia on Thursday evening at the Maksimir Stadium in their opening European competition game.

The Yellow Canaries wonder-kid has established himself as a first-team star for the Istanbul giants despite his young age.

Elmas played an important role in the 1-0 Fenerbahce victory over Konyaspor over the weekend in the Super Lig.

The rising star also put on an impressive display for Macedonia U21 against Armenia over the international break.

A source close to the Canaries revealed to Turkish-Football that the board are set to hold a meeting to discuss the future of Elmas.

Former Yellow Canaries president Aziz Yildirim revealed that the Citizens made an offer for Elmas before he joined the club.

“Manchester City and Ajax made concrete offers, in total 26 clubs made bids for Elif Elmas,” Yildirim told NTV Spor.

The youngster is expected to remain a Fenerbahce player this season after making a name for himself as a regular starter under the stewardship of Phillip Cocu.

Elmas has one goal in seven appearances for the Istanbul giants in all competitions this season.

Fenerbahce have been drawn in Group D in the Europa League alongside Anderlecht, Zagreb and Spartak Trnava.
