Man City v Everton: Confirmed lineups – £45m summer signing starts on the bench
Manchester City host Everton at the Etihad stadium tonight as they look to maintain their 100% record.
Pep Guardiola’s side defeated the newly promoted Brighton by a 2-0 scoreline in the opening weekend. Everton also come into tonight’s encounter following a victory in the opening week.
The Toffees have spent big over the summer transfer window with Gylfi Sigurdsson joining for a club record £45 million. The Iceland international has been included in Everton’s squad but starts on the bench.
Guardiola will be looking to get revenge for last season’s result. Ronald Koeman’s side defeated recorded a 4-0 win over Man City back in January.
Ilkay Gundogan – who featured for City earlier this week during a friendly against Girona – has been left out of the squad. The Germany international hasn’t featured in a Premier League game since last December due to a knee injury.
