Man City v Liverpool – Confirmed lineups – Ilkay Gundogan dropped to bench alongside De Bruyne

Manchester City host Liverpool tonight at the Etihad Stadium in tonight’s blockbuster Premier League fixture. The clash is scheduled to kick-off at 20:00 (GMT).

Liverpool are unbeaten in the league coming into tonight’s fixture and are on an eight-game winning run. A victory for Jurgen Klopp’s side will see them move ten points clear of Man City.

The Citizens have won just two of their last five Premier League games and know a win will reduce the deficit between themselves and Liverpool to four points.

Star playmaker Iklay Gundogan has dropped to the bench to make room for Fernandinho in midfield. The Citizens have a 64.3% win rate when Fernandinho is not in the side and have a 74.1% win rate with him in it.

Gundogan also started Man City’s 3-1 win over Southampton last weekend on the bench.

Kevin De Bruyne has also been left out of Guardiola’s starting eleven after failing a late fitness test.

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp holds the upper hand in his head-to-head battle with Guardiola (W8, D2, L5).
