Man City v Lyon – Confirmed Lineups – Aguero drops to the bench, Gundogan starts

Manchester City kicks off their UEFA Champions League campaign tonight when they host Ligue 1 giants Lyon.

The clash takes place at the Etihad stadium while kick-off is scheduled for 20:00 (GMT).

Pep Guardiola’s side made it all the way to the quarterfinals last season before being knocked out by Liverpool. The Spanish tactician will be hoping to go all the way this season but first, need to navigate past the group stages.

Star midfielder Ilkay Gundogan has been recalled to the starting eleven after starting Man City’s last two games on the bench. The 27-year-old has featured in every City game so far this season.

Meanwhile, Kevin De Bruyne misses out as he continues his recovery from a knee injury.

Sergio Aguero has been declared fit despite picking up an ankle injury over the weekend during City’s 3-0 win over Fulham. The Argentina international does, however, start on the bench.
