Man City v Lyon – Probable lineups – Guardiola facing major injury headache upfront – Gundogan available for selection

Manchester City are back in action in the UEFA Champions League on Wednesday night at the Etihad Stadium.

Pep Guardiola’s side have qualified comfortably from the group stages in the past two seasons. City were eliminated by Liverpool in the quarterfinals last term.

This will be the first time City have faced Lyon in a competitive game.

Star midfielder Ilkay Gundogan could return to Guardiola’s starting eleven if he opts for a more cautious approach.

The 27-year-old started the weekend win over Fulham on the bench.

Guardiola may be unable to call upon star striker Sergio Aguero.

The Spanish tactician stated that the Argentinian striker will face a late fitness test after picking up an ankle injury during Saturday’s 3-0 win over Fulham.

Left-back Benjamin Mendy is also an injury doubt going into the mid-week clash.
