Man United Ace Transfer To Turkish Giants Hits The Rocks After UEFA Champions League Exit

Argentina international Marcos Rojo’s potential Old Trafford exit has been put on hold following Fenerbahce’s elimination from the UEFA Champions League.

The Yellow Canaries were held to a 1-1- draw by Benfica in Istanbul last night. Fenerbahce will continue their European campaign in the Europa League this season.

A source close to Fenerbahce has revealed to Turkish-Football.com that the Yellow Canaries are unlikely to pursue Rojo this summer following Tuesday’s result.

Fenerbahce is already being closely monitored by UEFA for Financial Fair play and were banking on UEFA Champions League prize money to bankroll any further transfers.

The bookies recently made Fenerbahce favourites to sign the Argentinian international this summer. Ladbrokes have the 28-year-old priced at 1/3 to join Fenerbahce.

The Istanbul giants manager Phillip Cocu has urged club officials to sign a new defender this summer. Fenerbahce currently only have two centre-backs in their squad.

Cocu’s side recently completed the loan signing of Islam Slimani from Leicester City.
