Man United & Arsenal face competition from Turkish giants for £37.5m Santos wonderkid Yuri Alberto

Galatasaray have joined Premier League giants Manchester United and Arsenal FC in the race to sign Santos wonderkid Yuri Alberto.

In a recent interview, Gala President Mustafa Cengiz stated that the club are on the lookout this summer for young players who can develop into the stars of the future.

The Istanbul giants have subsequently been linked with Brazil U17 international Yuri.

According to the Turkish outlet Fotospor, Galatasaray scouts have been monitoring Yuri for over a year.

Per the source, Galatasaray officials have been handed the scout report and are weighing up a move for the Santos starlet.

The report goes onto state that both Manchester United and Arsenal are also interested in the highly-rated teenager.

Yuri has stated that he is keen on a move to Europe however, would prefer a transfer to the Italian Serie A.

“However, I am only 16 years old and have a journey to complete at Santos first. I want to be called up to the full team, score loads of goals and win the title,” Yuri told Mediaset Premium.

“Europe will eventually be the result of good work rather than the target in itself. Italian football is very tactical and with characteristics that really suit my game.

“It’s one of the most important leagues in the world, where many Brazilians have shone in the past. Plus it’s a wonderful place to live.

“It is certainly my dream to play for a big Italian club and experience Serie A.”

However, the Istanbul giants may struggle to meet Yuri’s lofty valuation. According to the Sun, Santos has set a £37.5 million price tag on the 17-year-old.

Galatasaray signed Bruma from Sporting aged 17 before selling him on for a profit to RB Leipzig last summer.

The Lions will participate in UEFA Champions League football after securing their 21st Turkish Super Lig title earlier this month.
