Man United are only a big name, there are better Europa League teams says Besiktas boss
Manchester United are the biggest name left in the Europa League but not the best side in the competition according to Besiktas manager Senol Gunes.
Gunes revealed that while United may have one of the best squads on paper there are better teams.
The Besiktas boss revealed that he would rather have drawn United in the quarter-finals over Lyon.
Gunes stated that Lyon are a better team than United and will prove to be tougher opposition.
“I would have preferred Lyon later on, Manchester United would have been better, as a name United are bigger but Lyon are the stronger side,” Gunes was quoted as saying by Turkish-Football.
“Lyon have a stronger squad than us on paper, so do United but that has not stopped us this season.”

Besiktas did beat Benfica and Napoli in the Champions League Group B.
The Black Eagles lost just one game in the group stages, on Match Day 6 against Dynamo Kiev, which saw them finish in third place just one point behind second placed Benfica.
United are currently the bookmakers favourites to win the Europa League and the Red Devils will take on Anderlecht in the quarter-finals.
Besiktas are currently first in the Turkish league and favourites to defend the league title.
United meanwhile are in 5th place, the Europa League could prove to be Jose Mourinho’s side best chances of booking a place in the Champions League next season.
