Man United boss Jose Mourinho secret reason not to sign Arsenal’s Mesut Ozil revealed

Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho rejected the opportunity to sign Mesut Ozil according to the latest reports.

Ozil was linked with a move away from Arsenal to the Red Devils last season. The 29-year-old ended up signing a mega-money contract extension with the Gunners after entering the final six months of his deal.

However, according to the Manchester Evening News (MEN), Ozil was pushing for a move to Old Trafford prior to penning a new Arsenal deal.

Per the source, Ozil’s representatives were keen for the player to move to United.

The MEN goes on to state that Mourinho was not interested in a reunion. The Portuguese Tacticanin reportedly ‘secretly’ believes Juan Mata and Jesse Lingard were both upgrades on Ozil.

The story does, however, appear to be hard to believe seeing that Mourinho sold Juan Mata while at Chelsea and has refrained from giving the Spain international a regular spot in the starting eleven at Man United.

Ozil has scored three goals in eight appearances for Arsenal in all competitions this season.
