Man United boss Jose Mourinho starts £27m star midfielder in friendly amid reports of striking deal with Euro giants

Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho included Marouane Fellaini in his starting XI against Valerenga.

The Belgium international’s future at Old Trafford looks uncertain following reports linking him with a move to Galatasaray.

Galatasaray sporting director Cenk Ergun recently confirmed talks with Manchester United for Fellaini.

“There will be surprises, we are in talks with Fellaini,” Ergun told Turkish-Football following the Lions training session in Austria on Saturday.

Turkish-Football can reveal that an agreement-in-principle has been reached between Galatasaray and the midfielder.

However, despite the recent reports Mourinho handed Fellaini a spot in the starting line-up for the pre-season clash in Oslo.

The former Everton man started alongside club captain Michael Carrick and Paul Pogba in midfield.

Fellaini has under 12 months remaining on his contract with Manchester United. The Red Devils are yet to offer the powerful midfielder an extension.

The 29-year-old made the move to the Red Devils from Everton for £27 million [BBC] back in 2014. United take on Sampdoria on August 2 at the Aviva Stadium, Dublin.
