Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho has reportedly told contract rebel Marouane Fellaini to shut up and sign a new deal according to the Mirror.

Per the source, Mourinho has been growing impatient with the Belgium international, who now faces another 6-8 weeks on the sidelines.

Mourinho said on Friday: “I told him yesterday: ‘Sign the contract and shut up,'” he said on Friday.

“I told him: ‘Don’t gamble too much. Sign the contract before you know the extent of the injury.'”

Fellaini has had a knee operation according to the official Manchester United website.

The 29-year-old will be a free agent at the end of the season unless he signs a new deal.

The Belgium international has yet to sign an extension despite Mourinho wanting him to stay on.

Fellaini has had no shortage of interest, Super Lig giants Besiktas are interested in the powerful midfielder.

Turkish-Football have reported Besiktas holding several rounds of talks with Fellaini’s representatives over a lucrative, long-term deal which would see him signed as a first-team player.

Mourinho has admitted he fears Fellaini could end up leaving at the end of the season.

“It’s a very important player for me and is a great professional that is giving everything he can to help the team and there is a desire from myself, the board and the player to stay together,” Mourinho said at his Tottenham pre-match press conference last week.

“That’s our objective. Are we going to reach, to agree?

“I don’t know but what I know is that myself, the board and the player we would like to have a happy year.”
