Buruk became the fifth coach in Champions League history to defeat Manchester United while in charge of two different teams.

The other coaches who have achieved this feat are Pep Guardiola, Ottmar Hitzfeld, Thomas Tuchel, and Jose Mourinho.

This is a remarkable achievement, as Galatasaray has never beaten an English team away in a European cup match before.

Galatasaray actually went behind twice in the game but managed to equalise twice with goals from Wilfried Zaha and Kerem Akturkoglu.

The Lions went onto win the game with an impressive effort from Mauro Icardi.

Icardi who missed a penalty redeemed himself minutes later with United down to 10 men after Casemiro was sent off.

The Argentine forward broke past the United defensive link before dinking the ball over Andre Onana.

This is the first time Galatasaray has gone unbeaten in the first two matches of the Champions League group stage since the 2001-02 season.

The victory move Galatasaray into second place in the group on four points. In the other group game Bayern Munich came from behind to beat Copenhagen 2-1.
