Man United make £35m bid for Benfica star but lose out to Chinese giants in shock deal

Brazilian forward Anderson Talisca has made a shock move to the Chinese Super League.

The 24-year-old was closely linked with a move to the Premier League.

According to the Portuguese outlet, A Bola,  Manchester United tabled a £35 million for the in-demand Benfica star.

However, Talisca has opted against a move to Europe and instead has joined Guangzhou Evergrande.

Several Portugues outlets including Lance have shared a photo of Talisca in a Guangzhou jersey while confirming the news.

Talisca spent the past two seasons on loan with Besiktas where he held them lift the Super Lig title and qualify to the last 16 on the UEFA Champions League.

Besiktas did have the option of signing Talisca for £18 million due to a clause in the loan deal.

Talisca racked up 20 goals and eight assists for Besiktas this season in 47 appearances in all competitions. The 24-year-old has made four appearances for the Brazil U23 side but is yet to earn a senior international cap.
