Man United plan to use Man City transfer model to sign wonder-kid nicknamed the ‘Turkish Dybala’, Tottenham also closely linked

Manchester United, Tottenham and Lille are all in the race to sign 19-year-old Basaksehir wonder-kid Cengiz Under according to reports in Turkey.

beIn Sport pundit Ekrem Eksioglu revealed on the Cafe Spor program that all three sides want to sign Under.

Per the source, all three clubs have been keeping tabs on the Turkish international.

Manchester United and Tottenham in particular want to sign Under with the view to loan him out so that he can continue his development, playing first team football.

Eksioglu claimed that both sides are keen on employing a similar transfer strategy to Manchester City who signed Enes Unal before loaning him out and selling him to Villarreal with a buyback clause.

“Lille made Basaksehir a €5 million bid which was immediately turned down,” Eksioglu said.

“Basaksehir want a lot more.

“They know they have Manchester United as well as Tottenham on their doorstep monitoring the situation closely and are in no rush to make a decision.

“Like what happened with Enes Unal and Manchester City they plan to sign Under and then loan him out so that he can continue developing by playing first team football.”

Under joined Basaksehir from Altinordu last summer and established himself as a star player.

Nicknamed the Turkish Dybala, Under still has another four-years on his contract.

United and Tottenham would be forced to loan out Under if they did sign him as he would not be eligible for work permit as he has not played enough international games for Turkey.

Alternatively he could be granted a permit under the ‘excecptional talent‘ rule as Gabriel Paulista did when he joined Arsenal.
