Man United scout watches £20m Wonderkid Yusuf Yazici on Saturday – nicknamed ‘new Mesut Ozil’
Manchester United have intensified their interest in Trabzonspor wonderkid Yusuf Yazici.
The Turkish outlet Fotomac have stated that United scout Kevin Stonehouse was present during Trabzonspor’s clash with Fenerbahce on Saturday.
Per the source, Stonehouse was monitoring the performance of Yazici. The Turkey international provided an assist for Trabzonspor’s second goal on the night.

Turkish-Football first reported that United were keeping tabs on the 20-year-old back in March. Yazici was snapped up by Mesut Ozil’s agent Dr Erkut Sogut just a month later.
Yazici burst onto the scene last season following the injury to Mehmet Ekici. The young playmaker started the season in the youth team but went onto score six goals and provide 10 assists in 22 games for Trabzonspor’s senior side.
Due to his languid playing style, intelligence and assist ratio, Yazici has already earned himself the nickname of the ‘new Mesut Ozil’ by Trabzonspor fans and the Turkish media.
The 20-year-old has another five-years remaining on his current contract with the Super League giants. Fanatik reported that the Black Sea Storm have valued their star asset at €20 million.
However, Trabzonspor chairman Muharrem Usta has stated that he has no intention of selling Yazici this summer. The Black Sea based club want to keep hold of Yazici for their 50th anniversary year.
“I want to see Yusuf here for our 50th year anniversary squad,” Usta was quoted as saying.
“He will be sold when the time is right, Yusuf will be an ambassador for the club and reach the highest level.”
