Man United star Pogba reveals his Portuguese ‘inspiration’ to UEFA

Manchester United star Paul Pogba has revealed his Portuguese inspiration on the official UEFA website.

Pogba was quoted as saying that Besiktas winger Ricardo Quaresma is an inspiration to him.

“Quaresma is an inspiration. The way he uses the outside of his foot is amazing, it is his weapon; he can pass, dribble and shoot with it which is an amazing skill,” Pogba was quoted as saying.

There is no denying that Quaresma has amazing technique, his trivela ability is the stuff of legend.

Quaresma has had a late renaissance playing a key role in the Black Eagles winning the league title last season and Portugal lifting the European Championships for the first time in the countries history.

In total there were three Super Lig players from last season in the Portugal Euro 2016 winning squad – Bruno Alves and Nani who play for Fenerbahce and Besiktas star Ricardo Quaresma.

The Portugesue star has played a key role for Besiktas this season as well. The Istanbul giants are first in the league and favourites to win the title.

Besiktas have also booked a place in the Europa League quarter-finals where they will take on French giants Lyon.

Pogba could meet his ‘inspiration’ in the next round if both sides progress past the quarter-final stage.
