Man United Star ‘Has A Price’ – Mourinho Refuses To Rule Out Exit As Arsenal & Besiktas Step Up Transfer Efforts

Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho would not rule out a departure for Henrikh Mkhitaryan in his press conference earlier this week.

The Armenia international has been closely linked with an Old Trafford exit this season.

“My approach to players is that every player has a price,” the United boss is quoted by Sky Sports.

“It doesn’t matter who he is. It doesn’t matter the level. It doesn’t matter the prestige, the status. I think every player has a price.

“And I am not the kind of blind manager…blind in the sense of, this player is untouchable, can never be sold. I think every player has a price.

“So when the transfer window is open, it’s also open for any club that is interested in our players. Then it’s up to us to make the decision: yes or no.

“It’s up to us to decide what we think is the right price. But Mkhitaryan played the last match in the FA Cup and probably will play the next one [against Stoke]. He’s a little bit the same in relation to other players that are involved in this gossip of the transfer market.

“He is our player and a very good player. So Saturday [he is] training, then Sunday [he is] selected and Monday [he will] play.”

A source close to Besiktas revealed to Turkish-Football that the club have been monitoring the situation closely.

The Black Eagles are in the market to strengthen their attacking line and have money to invest after selling Cenk Tosun to Everton for £27m (BBC).

Arsenal are however, also closely linked with Mkhitaryan.

The Daily Mail report that Arsene Wenger has demanded Mkhitaryan will have to join Arsenal if United want Alexis Sanchez in January.

Per the source, Arsenal’s new scout Sven Mislintat, who has joined the London club from Dortmund is a keen admirer of Mkhitaryan.

Besiktas would be able to offer Champions League football but the 28-year-old would be cup-tied in the competition were he to join in January.

The Gunners meanwhile are competing in the Europa League this season so he would be able to play in the competition.

Mkhitaryan has two goals and six assists for United in 22 appearances in all competitions this season.
