Man United to face major competition from Barcelona in race to sign €50m in-demand forward

Premier League giants Manchester United and Arsenal are set to face major competition from Europe in the race to sign AS Roma star Cengiz Under.

The Turkey international has been in exceptional form this season and has cemented his spot in Eusebio Di Francesco’s starting eleven.

Man United are reportedly courting Under as a potential replacement for Alexis Sanchez who could be on his way to PSG in January.

Meanwhile, the daily Turkish sports paper Fanatik claim that Barcelona scouts have also been monitoring the 21-year-old in recent weeks.

Per the source, the La Liga giants were impressed by the flamboyant forward during Roma’s 1-1 draw with Fiorentina on Saturday.

Sources close to Under have revealed to Turkish-Football that, Tottenham and Manchester City have also been scouting the former Altinordu man.

The transfer would cost any potential buyer in the region of £44m [€50m]. Interestingly, Under is one of Roma’s lowest earners at just €1m per-season.

Under has previously expressed his desire to play in the Premier League.

The 21-year-old has registered five assists and three goals for Roma so far this season.

Roma are back in action in the UEFA Champions League this week when they take on CSKA Moscow in Russia.
