Man United Could Trigger Leicester City Into Making £20m Offer For Croatia International Should They Sign Harry Maguire

Manchester United could trigger Leicester City into making a move for Besiktas defender Domagoj Vida should they sign Harry Maguire according to the Fanatik sports newspaper.

Per the source, the Foxes will be looking for a replacement should United complete the transfer of Maguire.

The transfer of the England international could go through for a £60m fee.

Leicester would be prepared to pay £20m for Vida as a replacement.

This is not the first time the Premier League outfit have been linked with the Croatia international.

The Foxes along with Liverpool, Everton, Monaco and Lyon have all been reported to have expressed an interest in the centre-back.

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has however, come out and made it clear he is happy with his defence and is not looking to sign an additional centre-back this summer.

When asked if he wants a new option at the back, Klopp replied: ”This summer, no. I don’t see the need.

“Joe Gomez, playing in that role as a central defender, he combines a lot of things you don’t find on the transfer market so I don’t see the need at the moment.”

Besiktas are prepared to sell Vida this summer after seeing his value skyrocket following an impressive World Cup campaign.

The 29-year-old played an important role in Croatia reaching the final and was named in The Guardian Team of the Tournament.

Vida joined the Black Eagles on a free transfer from Dynamo Kiev in January and has another four-years remaining on his contract.
