Manchester united manager Jose Mourinho is keen on signing Fenerbahce midfielder Ozan Tufan according to Turkish newspaper Hurriyet.
The report claims that United have been keeping tabs on Tufan and that recently appointed Red Devils manager Mourinho wants the 21-year-old at Old Trafford next season.
Everton, Southampton and Sunderland have also been closely linked and are also scouting the young midfielder.
The Newcastle Cronical meanwhile reported that United have been monitoring the Turkey international closely over the past 12 months.
This is not the first time United have been linked with Tufan. The Premier League giants were closely linked with the box-to-box midfielder prior to his Fenerbahce move according to his father.
“Other big European teams have sent scouts to watch Ozan play…AC Milan, Juventus, Chelsea and both Manchester clubs, City and United,” Mehmet Tufan told Spanish newspaper AS.
Tufan is currently the youngster player to have scored in Euro 2016 following his brilliant strike in the 2-0 victory over the Czech Republic.
The highly rated midfielder has received widespread praise for his recent performances and Fenerbahce head coach described him as being like a young Yaya Toure.
“He still has a lot to learn and that is my job but the world will soon have a central midfielder on the level of Yaya Toure on their hands,” he said speaking on Sport Tv following Turkey’s 2-0 victory over the Czech Republic.
