Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho will finally be reunited with Wesley Sneijder next month. And in case if you were wondering if this is another instalment of the Sneijder to Old Trafford transfer story, well it is not.
United will take on Galatasaray in a pre-season friendly in Sweden next month and unless Sneijder ends up leaving by then he will be reunited with his former coach.
The game will be played at the Ullevi Stadium in Sweden on Saturday 30 July, kick-off 7.30pm (local time).
Sneijder has always been a keen admirer of Mourinho ever since winning the treble together at Inter.
The Dutch star was one of the first players to defender Mourinho who faced widespread criticism following Chelsea’s dismal season.
“He is not only good coach, he’s also a good person. People love it when he fails, But he deserves respect for what has done, especially in your country,” Sneijder told the Portuguese daily newspaper O Jogo.
Mourinho has never held back from expressing his admiration for Sneijder either and has described him as the perfect number 10 in the past.
“Who is my perfect number 10? Wesley Sneijder and Deco. Because they could defend, get in the box and finish goals? Yes.” Mourinho was quoted as saying in the Telegraph.
Sneijder and Mourinho maintain close ties but have yet to work together since their time together at Inter.
