Man Utd could be up against an even stronger Man City side in the second Manchester derby

Manchester City won the first Manchester derby of the season pretty comfortable, recording a 2-1 victory over Manchester United.

City were without Sergio Aguero who was injured and Vincent Kompany as well as Germany international of Turkish origin Ilkay Gundogan were out injured.

Aguero, Kompany and Gundogan could all start in the next derby which will also be played at Old Trafford.

The EFL League Cup Fourth Round derby clash will take place the week of October 24 2016.

Gundogan had originally planned to face United in the first derby but will get the chance to take on the Reds at their home ground for the first time since joining from Borussia Dortmund next month.

Gundogan is one of two players of Turkish origin contracted to City with the other being 19-year-old striker Enes Unal – currently on loan at FC Twente.

The 25-year-old midfielder has one goal and one assist in two appearances for City this season.

City are currently on a nine game winning streak under the stewardship of recently appointed manager Pep Guardiola.
