Man Utd only willing to loan starlet tipped for greatness by Sir Alex Ferguson

Manchester United are only willing to loan Adnan Januzaj this season according to the Daily Mail.

Per the source, United want to avoid another Paul Pogba situation in having to resign a former player for an astronomic fee.

Januzaj was tipped for greatness by Sir Alex Ferguson when he was signed from Anderlecht aged 18.

“Adnan is a beautifully balanced player,” Ferguson was quoted as saying by the Telegraph.

“He’s only 18 and has to grow into his frame but he has good balance, good acceleration and is a very good technical player.”

Januzaj was brought in as Ryan Giggs understudy and wore his number 11 shirt when he arrived from Belgium.

In fact he referred to Giggs as being his Godfather: “Ryan has helped me a lot and is like a godfather,” he was quoted as saying by the Daily Mail back in 2013.

Things did not quite turn out as planned as Januzaj struggled to settle in following the retirement of Alex Ferguson and was loaned out over the second half of the 2015-16 season to Borussia Dortmund.

Januzaj is now being linked with a loan transfer to Sunderland per the Daily Mail and Besiktas are also interested in a temporary move.

Besiktas are in pursuit of a winger after loaning out Gokhan Tore to West Ham and have targetted Januzaj as a potential replacement.

The Istanbul giants would be able to offer Januzaj first team and Champions League football to aid his development. Besiktas manager Senol Gunes also has a great track record in developing and nurturing talent.
