Manchester United are preparing a €2.5 million per-season deal for the Algerian international midfielder Sofiane Feghouli according to Calciomercato.
Feghouli is yet to sign a contract extension with Valencia as the player’s current deal is due to expire at the end of the season. The Algerian international wants a salary increase, but Los Che are reluctant to match his demands.
United are set to face competition from Fenerbahce who are plotting a January bid according to the Turkish newspaper Milliyet.
Tottenham were also closely linked with the Algeria international by the Daily Star earlier this year. The Premier League club sent scouts to monitor Feghouli’s performances but are yet to table an offer. Valencia are understood to be holding out for €10 million for their attacking midfielder.
Former United stars Van Persie and Luis Nani both joined the Fenerbahce last month. Also Lille defender Simon Kjaer, 2014-15 Süper Lig top scorer Fernandao, Turkish international Şener Özbayraklı and Brazil international Josef De Souza have also signed over the transfer window.
Feghouli provided eight assists and scored six goals in 33 appearances for Valencia last season.
