Man Utd scout Bundesliga wonder-kid who dreams of playing for Jose Mourinho
Manchester United are keeping tabs on Freiburg wonder-kid Caglar Soyuncu a source close to the player revealed to Turkish-Football.com. Manchester City, Villarreal, Roma and Lille have also been scouting Soyuncu but the 20-year-old defender has dreams of playing for Jose Mourinho.
“I admire Jose Mourinho, not just his football but his philosophy,” Soyuncu said.
“I would like to work with him in the future.”
Despite his age Soyuncu has managed to establish himself as a first team regular for Freiburg in the Bundesliga this season.
The young defender has made made 16 Bundesliga appearances, playing a total of 1396 minutes of top-tier football.
Soyuncu has played 90 minutes in every league game he has featured in this season since 16 September 2016.
The Freiburg rising star joined the club from Altinordu over the summer and has another four-years remaining on his current contract.
The Altinordu project has attracted interest from across Europe and several Premier League sides who regularly send scouts to keep tabs on Altinordu youngsters.
The academy has already started to produce results. Soyuncu left over the summer as did Cengiz Under who was snapped up by Basaksehir. Under has gone onto become one of the bargains of the summer and plays first-team football for the title challengers.
Freiburg are currently eighth in the Bundesliga just eight points off a top four spot.
