Liverpool’s Emre Can is expected to be dropped to the bench once again when Germany take on the hosts France in the semi finals of Euro 2016.
The 22-year-old looked set to make his tournament debut following the injury to Sami Khedira however, Germany boss Joachim Low is expected to field Manchester United’s Bastian Schweinsteiger instead.
Can was included in Joachim Low’s 23-man-squad but is yet to play any football in Euro 2016 yet.
Germany side are unbeaten in the competition having recorded four wins and a draw to reach the last four. France are also unbeaten in the competition and put five past Iceland in the quarter finals.
Can is one of eight Germany born ethnic Turks in the tournament. Mesut Ozil is the other Germany international of Turkish origin while Turkey has six Germany born players.
