‘Managed to look slower than Carragher’ – Liverpool fans slam Emre Can on social media following display against Sevilla
Liverpool were held to a 2-2 draw against Sevilla at Anfield in their opening Champions League clash on Wednesday night.
Ben Yedder opened to scoring for the visitors inside the first five minutes but Firmino and Salah scored twice before the interval to give Liverpool a half-time lead.
The Reds could have been 3-1 up at the end of the opening 45 minutes had Firmino not missed a penalty.
Sevilla ended up equalising on 72 minutes thanks to a goal from Correa.
Emre Can started for the Reds and played 76 minutes until he was replaced by Philippe Countinho.
Can’s display did not exactly go down well with Liverpool fans.
We took a look at how Reds supporters reacted on social media to Can’s performance.

Not everyone was best impressed with Can’s display.
Most overrated player we have, one good game followed by 3 shite ones ??

Emre Can showed why, although he has some great games he needs to be consistent. Poor performance, bottled the tackle leading to the opener.

Left the striker unmarked from the throw in that led to equaliser too

Diabolical at times, one point in the game he was chasing the ball and managed to look slower than Carragher used to

that’s Emre Can. 2/3 good games and then back to reality. Should look at himself more. Very poor today.

Emre Can reminds me of one of those massive wardrobes with the tiny wheels. Just seems massive lumbering around midfield.

Emre Can was absolutely bollocks tonight. Same goes for Dejan Lovren (but that’s expected, I guess).
— Mik (@MikLFC) September 13, 2017
Defensively horrid. Emre Can completely switched off. No meaningful centerback involvement either, but seeing Can jog like that INFURIATING.
— John Green (@sportswithjohn) September 13, 2017
Since putting his chance wide just after Reds’ equaliser, Emre Can has missed every pass to him and failed to track 2 runs
— Karl Matchett (@karlmatchett) September 13, 2017
For someone who wants to be a holding midfielder, Emre Can’s defensive work really isn’t up to standard.
— Mik (@MikLFC) September 13, 2017
Will all be forgiven if Can signs a new contract?
Emre Can I love you so much but got to finish there. Sign a contract and I’ll forgive you.

Not everyone was as critical.
So u blame Can instead of Lovren. Weak analysis
— Lovemore Chiduza (@lchiduza) September 13, 2017
Is Klopp to blame? should Can be playing as a defensive midfielder?
This is starting with Henderson, who Klopp is playing as a DM.He clearly has no defensive awareness.
Emre Can needs to be put as the DM ASAP

Well he can always fall back on having great hair.
Lovely play from Liverpool to bring a chance for Emre Can, but a poor finish. Superb hair though.
