Manchester City Eye Fenerbahce Star Ferdi Kadıoğlu

Turkish defender Ferdi Kadıoğlu has emerged as a potential transfer target for Manchester City, according to Fotomac.

The 24-year-old has impressed this season for Fenerbahce, playing a key role in their ongoing title challenge. Kadıoğlu, who previously represented the Netherlands at youth level, switched allegiance to Turkey in 2022 and has made two senior appearances.

City sources have not commented on the reports, but Turkish media claim the Premier League champions have “taken action” to sign Kadıoğlu for next season. Pep Guardiola is said to be keen on adding the versatile defender to his squad.

Kadıoğlu has a contract with Fenerbahce until 2028, and his market value is estimated at €20 million. Whether City would consider a loan or permanent move remains unclear, adding complexity to any potential deal.

City have a history of recruiting talent from the Turkish league, most recently signing Enes Ünal from Bursaspor in 2015. However, Ünal’s career at City did not take off, and he now plays in England’s Championship with Bournemouth.

Kadıoğlu has been linked with a move to the Premier League for the past two seasons and has gone from strength to strength at the Yellow Canaries.

The Yellow-Navy Blues are currently in a tight title race with rivals Galatasaray and competing in the European Conference League.

The Turkish international has two goals and three assists in 33 appearances in all competitions this season.

Kadıoğlu is also part of the national team setup and hopes to book a place in the squad for the European Championships this summer.
