Pep Guardiola’s side were held to a 0-0 draw by their title rivals Liverpool in their previous league fixture.
The Citizens are unbeaten so far this season and are level on points with both Chelsea and Liverpool.
Burnley FC meanwhile have returned to form after a difficult start to the season. The Clarets are unbeaten in their last three games.
Man City midfielder Ilkay Gundogan was forced off with a hamstring injury during the Citizens win over Hoffenheim in the UEFA Champions League a fortnight ago.
The 27-year-old was also left out of Joachim Low’s Germany squad.
The midfielder of Turkish origin has failed to recover in time for the Burnley clash and has been left out of Guardiola’s matchday squad.
