Manchester United are blaming season ticket holders for the large number of Galatasaray fans who occupied the home sections of Old Trafford on Tuesday, according to BBC.
Per the source, United revealed they can confirm ‘some ticket’ were ‘unofficially accessed by, or transferred to visiting fans, even though they were all allocated to season ticket holders or members’.

Meaning that the tickets Galatasaray fans got hold of were actually tickets of season ticket holders or members that were sold or transferred by United supporters.
Pictures and videos on social media after United’s 3-2 Champions League defeat showed Galatasaray fans celebrating the game outside of the away stand.

Galatasaray were initially allocated under 2,000 tickets, but supporters were able to get tickets for the home sections and were not removed by the match day stewards.
Additionally, United are also looking into UEFA’s allocation of Category A tickets for Galatasaray guests, club partners and families which is in the home section.
However, this is separate from Galatasaray fans being in home stands not designated for Category A tickets for visiting supporters.
The club has been accused of trying to profit from the increased demand for tickets.
They are accused of selling tickets donated to the Manchester United Foundation by season ticket holders for inflated prices to make extra profit.
The club deny the accusations and are investigating the incident.
