Manchester United are ‘continuing to monitor Dortmund’s Ilkay Gündoğan‘ according to the Telegraph.
The report states that the Red Devil’s primary target is Bayern Munich’s Bastian Schweinsteiger but are keeping tabs on both Gündoğan and Juventus’ Paul Pogba.
The news comes amid reports of Gündoğan passing a medical with Barcelona.
The Spanish newspaper Mundo Deportivo has claimed that the Catalan giants were wary of the 24-year-old’s current medical condition following a long spell on the sidelines due to a back injury. Barcelona wanted to determine the players fitness before launching a bid to secure his services.
Manchester United have been closely linked with Gündoğan ever since he rejected extending his contract with Dortmund.
The Dortmund star is also reported to have attracted interest from Manchester City according to the Manchester Evening News.
“Playing outside Germany is one of my big goals. If one day I leave here, I’d like to play in Spain or for one of the big teams in England,” Gündoğan was quoted as saying in the Daily Mirror at the turn of the year.
Gündoğan has four assists and three goals in 31 appearances for Dortmund despite spending much of the season out injured.
