Sacha Boey’s stock continues to soar as Premier League giants Manchester United reportedly join the chase for the talented Galatasaray right-back according to ESPN.

This development adds another layer to the ongoing transfer saga surrounding the 23-year-old Frenchman.

United, struggling to find their rhythm in the league and dumped out of the Champions League’s bottom tier – where they shared a group with Galatasaray – are looking to rebuild their defensive line.

With Raphael Varane and Eric Bailly’s contracts nearing expiry, and contract extension talks with Varane stalling, the Red Devils are exploring their options.

ESPN reports that United’s initial summer shortlist for center-backs included Jarrad Branthwaite (Everton), Matthijs de Ligt (Bayern Munich), and Jean-Clair Todibo (Nice). Now, Sacha Boey’s name has emerged as a contender for the right-back slot as the Reds as part of the Reds plan for a defensive overhaul.

His impressive performance against United in the Champions League group stage is said to have caught the Red Devils’ attention.

According to reports, United are considering a summer move for Boey, who has impressed since joining Galatasaray from Rennes for €1.15 million in 2021. In 82 appearances for the Turkish giants, he has already racked up 4 goals and 4 assists.

Boey has two goals in 30 appearances for Galatasaray in all competitions this season.

The Lions are in the midst of the title race and competing in the Europa League so ideally they do not want to lose Boey in January but would be open to an end of season transfer exit for the right price.

Boey is under contract until 2025, he will have 12 months remaining on his deal this summer making it an ideal time to part ways if Galatasaray do plan on selling.
