Man United set to scout £21m Brazilian target during Turkish league derby
Besiktas take on Trabzonspor in one of the most important derby fixtures in the Turkish league calendar.
The game is not a derby in the traditional sense, the two clubs are from different cities but it holds derby status due to the historic rivalry and status of the two teams.
The clash could prove pivotal in the title race. Besiktas are currently league leaders, five points clear of 2nd placed Basaksehir who take on 3rd placed Galatasaray.
Trabzonspor meanwhile are 5th, just three points behind 4th placed Fenerbahce.
Manchester United are one of several clubs that will have scouts monitor the game a source close to Besiktas told Turkish-Football.
The Red Devils have been keeping close tabs on Anderson Talisca who is expected to start for Besiktas.
The Takvim newspaper revealed today that United and Liverpool are prepared to activate his £21 million release clause this summer.
Talisca on a two-year loan at Besiktas from Benfica.
Black Eagles club president Fikret Orman has already ruled himself out of the race to trigger Talisca’s release clause this summer.
