Manchester United managerJose Mourinho claimed he would not be revealing any team news going into the Europa League game against Istanbul giants Fenerbahce at his pre-match press conferenc yesterday.
Mourinho has since given two major clues regarding the state of his team. We already know that Phil Jones is out injured but Luke Shaw and Henrikh Mkhitaryan were reported to be nearing match fitness after recovering from injury.
The Portuguese manager revealed that Shaw will start tonight and the United left-back was the only player involved in the pre-match press conference.
In other Man United team news Mourinho revealed that Mkhitaryan has recovered and is match fit but did not disclose whether he would mark his return against Fenerbahce.
“He was injured and he was injured for quite a long time. Now, he’s not injured anymore,” Mourinho was quoted as saying on the official club website.
“He’s training with the team without any limitation. I cannot confirm if he’s [ready] for tomorrow or not, but he’s fit and it’s now time for him to go back to the levels we know that he can achieve.”
Mhkitaryan has made just five appearances this season as a combination of not being in great form and having injury problems.
Mourinho is expected to field a strong side however, he may rotate some of his players ahead of the Premier League clash against Chelsea over the weekend.
